      Very good question!
Ironically I think the most and least enjoyable aspect is one in the same. I think it is really enjoyable discovering how something works or creating something new that no one has ever done before, but that can also sometimes feel like the least enjoyable thing when things aren’t working and you can’t figure out why. So there are highs and lows! I personally really enjoy the challenge of figuring it out and the potential of discovering something that will help people in the future!

Parts of my job can be really frustrating, but then it normally feels even better when you figure it out. Although you normally work in a team and you can bounce ideas and problems off other people, sometimes you’ll end up being the only one who has to sort things out – that can feel like quite a lonely process – but often if you go and speak to someone having to explain it helps solve the problem – even if they don’t actually give you any advice!

The part of my job I find most boring, doesn’t actually relate to engineering. I hate marking! I think more that the students hate doing the exams!
