• Question: Do you do any work on the simple nerve processing in the spinal chord? I was amazed when I read all about it!

Research on simple nerve processing is in fact very interesting! However it is not my field of study. My research does not focus on the spinal cord, but on the intervertebral disc, which is the soft tissue between the vertebrae. The disc is what makes it possible for our spine to rotate and bend. I am studying how the behaviour of the disc changes over time, as we grow older, and why our spine is able to move less. In addition, in the future I am hoping to also develop an artificial replacement for the intervertebral disc. You could say its pretty amazing too!
